We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to partner with us to launch our school for Unique and Twice Exceptional Learners.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, interest forward, supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
This role involves building curriculum and implementing effective teaching strategies to achieve personalized learning goals. We will have a strong focus on collaborating with students and parents to ensure the success of each student.

Responsibilities

Assist with developing and implementing various teaching methods and resources to engage 2e students in learning.

Assist with developing scaffolded support structure in areas such as executive functioning and social cognition.

Monitor and assess student progress constantly and work with team to adjust instructional strategies and supports accordingly.

Foster a positive school environment that focuses on positive reinforcements and reward systems to build confidence.

Mentor and tutor students in core subjects such as math, Science, ELA, and social studies, and ensuring they achieve their academic goals in a way that is talent/interest driven.

Stay informed about best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.

Ideal Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

Valid teaching certification in NJ.

Knowledge of and experience with Executive Functioning skill building and Social Emotional Learning strategies.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and team.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating strong independent work ethic.

Familiarity with tutoring methods and educational technologies is a plus.
